The passage of time leaves its mark – not only on the face and body, but also in the intimate area. The female genital area, like many other parts of the body, undergoes natural changes throughout life. These are primarily hormonal, with estrogen levels playing a key role.

When the body changes

Factors such as pregnancy, menopause or general health can affect the hormonal balance – and thus also the appearance and function of the intimate region.

Frequent changes in the intimate area

  • Loss of volume and elasticity
With the natural decline of collagen and elastin, the skin becomes thinner and less elastic. The labia may appear smaller, looser, or less defined.
  • Altered proportions
The inner labia can lengthen over the years and protrude from the protection of the outer labia.

Possible complaints and restrictions

  • Discomfort in clothing
Certain items of clothing such as tight jeans or underwear can be uncomfortable due to friction or pressure.
  • Impairments in sports and exercise
Activities such as cycling or horseback riding can become uncomfortable or painful due to protruding labia.
  • pain during sexual intercourse
In some cases, the shape or size of the labia can cause discomfort or pain during intimate contact.

Aesthetic-functional intimate correction

For many women, a aesthetic-functional intimate correction be a sensible option – be it due to physical complaints, limitations in everyday life or a disturbed self-image.

The most common procedures include:

  • Reduction of the inner labia (labiaplasty)
  • Volume augmentation of the outer labia with autologous fat
  • Liposuction in the area of the mons pubis

Important: Intimate surgical procedures require specialized expertise and extensive experience. They should only be performed by qualified plastic surgeons who are thoroughly familiar with the sensitive anatomical and aesthetic requirements.
