Chin-neck angle – remove double chin and improve profile

The transition between the chin and neck is called the chin-neck angle. If the chin-neck angle is well-defined, it, along with the jawline, contributes to a youthful facial contour. Excessive fatty tissue there—either due to hereditary factors or obesity—alters the contour and negatively impacts well-being. The same applies if the skin sags with age or after weight loss, and too much skin there obscures the angle.
In both cases—whether due to excess fat or sagging skin—the chin-neck angle can be restored. If too much fat is the problem, the fatty tissue can be removed and the angle re-established. This allows a defined angle to be restored. For smaller fat deposits and an already defined angle, liposuction is sufficient. For more pronounced fat deposits located under the neck muscle (platysma) and where the angle has already been obscured, the fat is removed through a small, barely visible incision under the chin.
If there is excess skin on the neck, a neck lift can help define the contours. A small incision under the chin is sufficient if there is only a small amount of excess skin. However, if more skin is affected, we recommend combining the procedure with a facelift. In such cases, the jawline is often also obscured by the so-called "jowls." If only the neck is treated, the face can no longer function harmoniously with the neck area.
When restoring the chin-neck angle, we also attach great importance to ensuring that the result is always natural and harmonious. If you are interested, we would be happy to advise you during a personal consultation.
