Gynecomastia refers to the enlargement of the breast gland in men, caused by enlarged glands, fatty deposits, or a combination of both. A thorough examination of the mammary gland and hormonal balance is necessary for every case of gynecomastia. Medications or performance-enhancing drugs can also play a role in some cases. Although malignant tumors in the male breast are rare, they must be ruled out. If a hormonal or medication-related cause exists, the breast can be reduced in size through hormone therapy or medication adjustment. Often, however, no hormonal causes can be identified, requiring surgical treatment. A male breast correction offers a permanent solution and helps to boost self-confidence and achieve a natural, masculine breast shape.

We will examine the cause of gynecomastia and discuss all necessary treatment steps. To schedule an appointment, please contact us. or under T +41 44 397 38 60
with us.
Before treatment, we will review your medical history and, if necessary, conduct a hormone test. It is important not to take any blood-thinning medications and avoid smoking before the procedure for optimal healing.
Breast removal is performed under short general anesthesia. A small incision is made in the lower area of the nipple, resulting in a discreet scar. The gland is removed and the fat portion is replaced by Liposuction adjusted. If there is a large amount of excess skin, additional incisions may be necessary. Before the surgery, we will discuss which procedure is best for you. If necessary, we will place small drains to drain wound fluid. Finally, we will apply a compression vest to reduce swelling.
The breast may feel tender for the first few days after surgery. Immediately after the procedure, a compression vest should be worn day and night for a period of three to six weeks. This reduces swelling and helps the removal of excess skin. During this time, exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided, but light activities can be resumed after a few days. The stitches dissolve on their own. Healing will be monitored by the surgeon who performed the operation after just one week. Initially, the scars are firm and slightly red, and swelling can last for up to 12 weeks. During this time, the breast is often tender to the touch. After about three months, the breast has reached its final shape and size, and after about six months the scars fade.
Acute complications are extremely rare. However, as with any surgical procedure, certain risks exist, such as bleeding, infection, or impaired wound healing. Bruises and swelling usually subside quickly. In very rare cases, the nipple may become necrotic. If asymmetry or indentation is a concern, these can be corrected with a follow-up operation. We will discuss the exact risks in detail during our consultation.
We would be happy to discuss the costs in a personal consultation.
