Before the procedure, you should avoid blood-thinning medications and quit smoking to promote the healing process. You will receive detailed instructions during your consultation.
The surgery is performed under a brief general anesthetic. Fat is suctioned from pre-selected areas of your body using small cannulas. The extracted fat is specially prepared and injected into the penis through small, barely visible incisions to thicken it. Drains to drain wound fluid are not required. The procedure is minimally invasive, and the recovery time is relatively short.
After liposuction, you may experience muscle soreness at the donor site. This is usually temporary. The swelling in the liposuction area will completely subside within about six to eight weeks. In some cases, wearing compression garments may be necessary, depending on the extent of the procedure. If fat was injected into the penis, it takes about four to six weeks for the fat to fully integrate. Initially, significant swelling may occur, which can sometimes be painful. The dressing consists of adhesive strips that protect the affected area. It is advisable to choose underwear that does not compress the penis too much. Boxer shorts are a good choice, as they offer sufficient freedom of movement. You can usually resume your normal activities after just a few days. However, please note that swelling in the surgical area can persist for up to eight weeks. We recommend abstaining from sexual activity and strenuous exercise for about four to six weeks to support the healing process.
Every surgical procedure carries certain risks, such as bleeding, infection, asymmetries, and impaired wound healing. With this method, there is a specific risk that the transplanted fat may not heal completely. This can happen if the body does not produce enough new blood vessels to adequately supply the fat, which can lead to fat breakdown. Smoking, excessive exercise during the early healing phase, and malnutrition can also negatively impact this process. Asymmetries can be corrected with a subsequent procedure. Permanent numbness is very rare but can occur in exceptional cases.
