The operation is performed under a brief general anesthetic. During penile lengthening, the ligament supporting the penis in the pelvic area is surgically released. The surgeon makes an incision above the penis at the pubic bone and precisely severs the ligament. This increases the length of the penis by several centimeters when flaccid. The corpora cavernosa remain unchanged, so the length remains the same when erect. To prevent the tissue from growing together, a small amount of fatty tissue is inserted into the affected area. Drains to drain wound fluid are usually not required.

After surgery, the wound may feel tight for a few days. A special dressing is not necessary. Initially, the scars are firm and slightly red. Swelling in the surgical area can last up to eight weeks. To promote healing, we recommend avoiding sexual intercourse for the first four to six weeks. Normal activities can usually be resumed after a few days.

As with any surgical procedure, risks such as infection, bleeding, or impaired wound healing can occur. A particular risk associated with penis enlargement is that the severing of the ligament may make the penis somewhat less stable.
