Treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers typically takes only 15 to 30 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis. The filler is injected into the desired areas using a fine needle or blunt cannula. The results are immediately visible.
Immediately after treatment, slight swelling, bruising, or redness may occur, but these will subside within a few hours to a few days. Exercise, sunbathing, and sauna visits should be avoided for 24 to 48 hours.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects include temporary swelling, redness, or minor bruising at the injection sites. In rare cases, unevenness (granuloma formation) or overcorrection may occur, but this can usually be reversed with hyaluronidase treatment. In very rare cases, skin damage may occur, but this usually heals conservatively.
